Meditation is a practice in which an individual trains the mind and/or induces a mode of consciousness to realize some benefit. The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices, which range from techniques designed to promote relaxation, contacting spiritual guides, receiving psychic visions, getting closer to god, seeing past lives, taking astral journies, and so forth, to more technical exercises targeted at developing compassion, love, patience, generosity, forgiveness and more far-reaching goals such as effortless sustained single-pointed concentration, single-pointed analysis, and an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any and all of life's activities.
 
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands on healing as a form of alternative medicine and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professional medical bodies. Reiki practitioners believe that they are transferring universal energy (i.e., reiki) in the form of qi (Japanese: ki) through the palms, which they believe allows for self-healing. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. "life force energy" is transferred through Reiki to promote healing.
 
Pranic healing is an alternative medicinal method created/rediscovered by Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui that uses prana (energy) to heal ailments in the body by manipulation of the person's energy field(aura). Pranic healing treats the "energy body" which in turn affects the "physical body". Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life-force. This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. Pranic Healing is a simple yet powerful & effective system of no-touch energy healing. Pranic Healing is base on two proposed principles: 1) Law of Self-Recovery: Which according to Choa Kok Sui states that the 'body is capable of healing itself at a certain rate. If a person has a wound or burn, the body will heal itself and recover within a few days to a week. In other words, even if you do not apply antibiotic on the wound or burn, the body will repair or heal itself.' 2) Law of Life Energy: According to Choa Kok Sui 'for life to exist, the body must have prana, chi or life energy. The healing process can be accelerated by increasing life energy on the affect part(s) and on the entire body' Pranic Healing requires no drugs, gadgets, not even physical contact with the subject. Physical contact is not required because the practitioner is working on the energy body and not directly on the physical body.
 
There are two main branches of Reiki, commonly referred to as Traditional Japanese Reiki and Western Reiki. Though differences can be wide and varied between both branches and traditions, the primary difference is that Westernised forms use systematised hand-placements rather than relying on an intuitive sense of hand-positions (see below)
 
According to Choa Kok Sui, in ancient China there were 5 levels of healing. The first being massage which is often referred to as acupressure. The second level involves healing with herbs and some animal products.
 
The word meditation carries different meanings in different contexts. Meditation has been practiced since antiquity as a component of numerous religious traditions and beliefs. Meditation often involves an internal effort to self-regulate the mind in some way.
 
Purity of heart or freedom from resentment, hate, prejudice and negative thinking is another objective of meditation. Although it is said that repetition of a Mantra helps to cleanse and enlighten the mind, there is no evidence that the mental sound-form does so, but the faith in it and the sincerity to direct one's life by the ideals behind it.
