How do teeth differ

teeth differ

You first set of teeth are called milk teeth.

These grow beneath the gum and have to force their way out. This process is called teething, and can be very painful. You only have 20 milk teeth. Later another set of teeth form in the gum, under the first set. This second set of teeth gradually pushes the milk teeth out until there are 32 permanent teeth.

Teeth have different shapes so that they can carry our different jobs. Incisor is flat and shaped like chisels. You use them to cut you food. The canines are the pointed teeth just behind the incisors, and you use them to tear food. The back teeth , called molars and premolars’, are food into small pieces ready of swallowing, Wisdom teeth are a mystery as no-one has discovered exactly why humans have them and what their purpose is.
